I recently read that AIDS rates in Zimbabwae are decreasing. (read more) I was so pleased to see this. The AIDS epidemic is widespread throughout the world and is a terrible, uncurable disease. The fact that we are actually finding ways to educate the population on safe sex and prevention of AIDS and HIV is awesome. The only way to control the spread of AIDS is to press the importance of safe sex. AIDS was originally known as the ‘gay disease’ but now, althought it is more common in the gay and lesbian community, it is not exclusive to it. The fact that our education programs in third world countries are actually beginning to make a difference is outstanding. I’m intrigued to find out what will happen wiht the AIDS crisis in the next decade.
